Requesting a look at this code for caption – partially working

  • Hi, Sorry to to post this again but I had tried responding adding it to the older, related post (incorrectly I guess and it got edited out). So hopefully I’m doing this right this time.

    Hi, I had been looking for a solution to show captions with a slideshow for literally days. And yours is the first one to work. Thank you so much. I have the captions working fine now BUT I have one other issue.

    I am using keesiemeijer’s code in a slideshow and it’s working great to show the captions on those slides. However, now the thumbnails below are not switching to the new picture when clicked. The strange thing is that everything else is getting switched. So if I click on a thumbnail below the slider and then click on the slider, the information for that slide is for the thumbnail that I just clicked, but the image is still the original one. I feel like this may be just a misplaced “}” or something but can’t figure it out. If you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate it.

    Here is the code for the slider portion (where the main slider resides with the featured image). This works to get the caption showing with each image in the slideshow:

    Does anyone have any ideas why the some of the meta info appears to be updating in the featured slot when I click the thumbnails but not the image?

    Sorry about the code error. I’m new here as you can tell I’m sure.

    This is the code I’m using which grabs the image caption to display with the slideshow. This is working to get captions etc but when I click on a thumbnail to change the featured picture, it changes the meta data (caption etc.) but doesn’t change the image itself. Here’s the code for the main slider:

    To see how thumbnails are changing metadata (but not image), you can go to the link below. For example, click on the second thumbnail, then click on the bigger image and you’ll see that the metadata is for the second thumbnail but the main image did not update.
