Request to remove hints on product images (too long)

On a WordPress installation with only WooCommerce core enabled and the default Storefront theme I’m not seeing multiple instances of the additional instructions for product image upload when no image was selected.

However, checking further I suspect it’s the same issue as described in this GitHub bug report:

If it does indeed sound familiar, please go ahead and add your own comment and subscribe to the thread for updates.

You should be able to remove additional instructions using a filter. I’d suggest asking developers here:

I really dont need this message taking up valuable real estate on every admin product page. How can I remove or hide this?

In your thread, please include:
1) A brief description of the issue
2) A copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it as a comment in your thread.

This is in line with the forum guidelines on posting on related threads / existing threads with similar issues.

I couldn’t agree more! This hint is super annoying and will lead to time-consuming questions by customers. By the way, there are shops that use many pictures. And they might use images that are not very easy to compress. So, please, don’t say that 1000px is a good choice for each and every shop. We use 800px images, and it is sometimes quite difficult to get a file size of less than 100kB without noticable artifacts. With up to 10 images per product this a lot to load.

Please, remove this bloat. Thank you.

Kindly note that the issue where under the product image, there was a display of a tip that repeated in certain situation, has been fixed in WooCommerce 6.9.3.

Well, I use Photoshop’s “Save for web…” since ages. I know how to compress images. But thanks.

@cutu234 It does make you wonder if Woo Support actually reads the content of messages or if they just see a title and find a canned response.
