Request to add Featured Image captions for Gameday Theme

  • Hi,

    I need to add captions to my featured images due to license, but the template I am using (Gameday) does not have this. I have spoken with the theme author and he does not have the time to include this feature, so I thought I’d have it requested here. Considering I am a total newbie at wordpress, I feel I am out of my element here. Any help would be superb.

    I would like to have a small transparent caption block at the bottom of the image which would show the caption information. If anyone can help with this please do!

  • WordPress doesn’t have any control over theme authors timelines and what they do, and don’t do, as far as updating their themes are concerned.

    To make matters worse (in your case at least) there’s even less control over commercial vendors as there’s only very few that have any sort of official recognition on this site. So, if the author says “one day…” that’s about the best answer that you’re going to get.

    The only options that you’ve got are to either use a different theme, which I understand can cause more problems then leaving things as they are, or you can program plugin yourself (or get someone else to program one for you) that will add in the captions that you need.

    I read your article but I have no idea where and which file to copy and paste that code “that has been tested in wp3.3.” to…

    Same goes with the code under the PS part, where do I throw that in?
