[REQUEST] Handeling comments on a seperate page

Is there a way of dealing with comments on a different page other than the original post page.
I tried some things, but the comments , as far as I got to understand, do not work like a normal template page where I can Include Header, comments, sidebar and then footer page…
If comments could be seperated from the main article creating a “new” page with related comments, that only those really interested in reading them will be directed to.
Given this as an OPTION would make designers life a bit more interesting and easy , and will open new layout design options ??
