• Hi, first off great work on this little plugin thus far! It’s definitely saved me a lot of work.

However one feature that I wish was included in the widget was the ability to sort testimonials by random order.

I have a site where the client has requested 1 random testimonial displaying in the sidebar of every page. But in order to accomplish this I need to manually code my own widget rather than use the native testimonial widget included with this plugin.

Just a suggestion for an easy update that I think many users would find helpful.

    Thanks!

    Hi evster,

    Thanks for your query. ??

You could use the “orderby” parameter and set this to “rand” when using the shortcode.

Please advise if this produces the desired result. ??

    Thanks and regards,
    Matty.

Thanks Mattyza. That’s exactly what I did (though in my case I used php instead of a shortcode).

But what I was getting at was that it would be a cool feature to add that random sort order to the widget that’s part of the plugin. That way I won’t need to create my own custom widget just to pull a random testimonial.

@evster – This functionality has been added in version 1.2.1 of the plugin. ??
