    Dear Rank Math,

I am writing to seek your assistance with an issue I am facing on my website. Despite following best practices for image SEO, my images are not appearing in search engine results.

Here are some details about the issue:

    • SEO Plugin Version: 1.0.122
    • WordPress Version: 6.3
    • Issue: Images are not being indexed by search engines.
    • LazyLoad: Yes, via Theme
    • Cache: Wp Rocket
    • CDN: Cloudflare Enterprise via Cloudways
    • Featured images: WEBP

I have already taken the following steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Checked the robots.txt file to ensure it’s not blocking search engines from crawling my images.
    2. Used descriptive alt text and file names for all images.
    3. Submitted an image sitemap via Google Search Console.
    4. Verified that there are no server issues affecting the crawl rate.

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I would greatly appreciate it if you could look into this matter and provide guidance on how to resolve it.

Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your prompt response.

    Best regards

    Hello @marbs,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with your images not being indexed.

Please verify you have optimized your website and images for indexing as in the following guide: https://rankmath.com/blog/image-seo/. If you have followed all the steps for optimum image SEO, please check your Google Search Console index coverage report for any issues that might prevent indexing: https://search.google.com/search-console/index

Please note that only the images that Google finds useful will be indexed in the image search. It doesn’t matter how many images you have on your site. If Google doesn’t find them useful, they will not be indexed. Our plugin doesn’t have full control over what images should be indexed on the SERP.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hello @rankmathteam, Thank you for your reply. Yes, my images are optimized perfectly. I learned this is not related to your plugin at all. Neither to my end too.

So, I have been struggling with this issue for years. I have been brainstorming if I made a major change on my website couple of years ago. Yes, namely, Cloudflare.

So I have read an article about Cloudflare and the impact on SEO. The article as well as the feedback from readers in comment section sounds very familiar to me. Based on that, I decided to remove the Cloudflare (I’ve got nothing to loose).

All those years I had low search engine indexation, but on August 26 I removed Cloudflare completely from my site and to my surprise I see a sudden peak!

Here’s the proof/result: screenshot Google Search Console.

My result and that of the article’s comment section (and the article itself) is enough to determine that Cloudflare is BAD for your SEO no matter you use Rankmath or not.

Yes and it is increasing humongous since the removal of Cloudflare @rankmathteam. Here’s the Google Search Console result the day after. I also noticed my Adsense earnings are rising since the removal of Cloudflare with >500%.

All the time I was blaming Rankmath but it was Cloudflare all the time for years.
