[Request] Disallow registration unless invited

  • Hi,

    I’m willing to put money down for the development of a functionality that disallows registration unless the user was invited. Right now I’m using “Secure Invites” for this purpose, but I’d like to use your plugin as it’s superior and it is compatible with MyCred. The aim being to incentivize invitations but still keep the site exclusive.

    I’d appreciate hearing back on this ??

    Hi Number_6 – The plugin already supports this, at least on multisite. To enable:

    1. Disable user registration
    2. In Invite Anyone settings, check ‘Allow email invitations to be accepted even when site registration is disabled’

    Question: before I try installing another plugin – does this plugin offer an expiration to the invitation? I tried using the same “secure invites” but I keep getting redirected to a 404 registration page. I’m using other plugin’s to lock down the site to avoid as best as possible crawlers and other peering eyes wandering over the site. I just want to send invites to specific clients (and clients to their clients), and if they do not log in/ register after X days – the invitation is null. I may be having conflicts between Theme-my-login and wordpress access control… but i’m not sure… just trying to fix one thing at a time ??
