    I was wondering if it would be possible to have the option of setting a department as a “category,” such as “Product” and “Website” in the below screenshot – as in not allowing a user to submit a ticket under that “general” department. We don’t want to have to manually move tickets to a more specialized department manually, if possible.

    That’s not possible with the current system. However, you could customize how the field is displayed and transform options with children into optgroup, preventing the users to select a parent category.

    That is quite some work, though. You’d need to:

    1. Write a new function for displaying taxonomies with optgroups
    2. Change the callback function for departments so that it uses your new callback

    If you want to try doing it I can point you in the right direction to start.

    I didn’t think it was possible currently, but thank you for clarifying that for me! It’s not a deal-breaker for me/us, so we’ll manually move something to a different department for now. No rush, just something we personally would find useful! Thanks again for the great plugin! ??
