… I changed my mind when I had to nuke my database to get rid of this plugin (and or the redux plugin, maybe it was a combo).

Thanks for the kind words. Your idea of a masonry-style gallery is something we have considered adding as part of the themes option for the RPS Image Gallery.

We are somewhat surprised you had to roll back your database to a previous version due to the RPS Image Gallery/Redux Framework combination. Could you provide some additional details such as errors received and/or symptoms? It would be extremely helpful to help determine if something is indeed wrong with one or the other of the plugins and allow us to correct it.

On a side note, we did have another user report a fatal error due to their server environment not supporting anonymous functions, so perhaps the issue you experienced is related. We have released a new version of RPS Image Gallery to accommodate server environments that do not support anonymous functions and will be pushing it to the public shortly.

Thanks for your feedback and thanks in advance for your time.

    Hi

Thanks for the quick reply. The problem was that after I deactivated these to plugins AND deleted all my content (a wp gallery) on the post, nothing changed in frontend. It was like the post was cached or something.

I don’t know, maybe not related to your plugins – I’m not tech savvy enough to be sure. But I didn’t have any such problem before trying this plugin (with the support of the redux plugin).

So there you have it. I will not leave a negative review, because I’m not 100% sure of the problem.

Sure thing. We really appreciate the clarification. Since RPS Image Gallery nor Redux Framework have caching mechanisms, the cause was likely outside the realm of their influence. Caching can be a tricky beast to be certain and difficult to troubleshoot.

Just for clarification, RPS Image Gallery simply overrides the default gallery shortcode in WordPress. It does not write anything beyond settings to the database options table.

We are going to go ahead and close out this support request, but feel free to contact us again with questions or suggestions. Thanks again for your time!
