• Hi,

Does any of you know of some sort of Fitness Diary plugin for WordPress?

I’m looking for something that runs like a seperate blog (on a page of its own) outside the main loop and feed. In addition to regular blog posts, I would like to track fitness data like weight, bodyfat, heartrate etc.

Anyway, I have a lot of ideas and a more comprehensive project description on its way. If I don’t find what I’m looking for, I just might make my own.

  • That sounds like a great idea! If you do create something, I hope you’ll share it here! ??

I think it would also be cool to include one’s weekly goals, ie cardio minutes, food servings, water intake, weight training reps, etc.

    Exactly! ??

I would like the plugin to track both cardio, weight training, food and nutrition, short and long-term goals etc. And it would be nice to display ones progress visually with graphs etc.

Anyway, I’ll look into it asap.

There may be a simpler way to do this. I created a static page where I record my monthly exercise, with a call to the front page. I just edit the page daily to update the information. You could feasibly add weight and nutritional information as well.

You can see the page at https://gorey.com.au/this-months-exercise/ and the summary on the main index.

A plugin to show graphs would be neat though.

@mjg: I am afraid that’s a bit too simple. I need to monitor a lot of data, and to do graphs, calculations and other statistics, they really need to be stored in a database.

Anyway, I have decided to go ahead and make my own plugin. More info will follow at: https://damkjaer.net/fitnessdiary

I would be very interested in such a plug-in as well. Sounds like a big project though. ??

Excellent! Check out https://a.wholelottanothing.org/2005/04/using_peer_pres.html for examples of someone already doing this.. looking forward to what you come up with.
