I hope someone can point me in the right direction as I struggled to find the right place to direct this query on the Woocommerce website. I’ve recently purchased a plugin from a third-party developer/vendor (non-Woocommerce developed) and a function of the plugin which is quite fundamental isn’t working. When contacting their support they have eventually come back to say this is a ‘feature’ that will be considered but they aren’t willing to implement it now. In my opinion the issue is a bug not an additional feature and the plugin should not be sold without it working. I wanted to know if there is any way of contacting Woocommerce to look into the issue as I would presume they wouldn’t want faulty plugins being sold on their marketplace? If anyone knows the route by which I could raise this issue with Woocommerce I would be very grateful.

  • Hi @kimruddock!

Thank you for reaching us! I’m sorry that you are experiencing this kind of issue.

To take a further look, could you please share the name of the third-party plugin you are using?

Also, to know more about your setup and point you in the right direction, kindly provide us your System Status; you can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select ‘Get system report’ and then ‘Copy for support’. Once you do this, paste in here your response.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

Hi, sorry for the delay. I was still pressing the issue with the plugin developer but they came back to me today and are still refusing to fix the problem. The name of the plugin is Store Finder for WooCommerce. The specific issue is with the CSV import function. The plugin allows stores to be assigned to different Store Categories using the WordPress tag system. Manually created stores in the admin can be assigned multiple Store Categories. When exporting the stores from a site the data is generated in CSV format and any Store Categories a store has assigned are listed under a column heading of ‘Category’. If the store has multiple Store Categories the values are shown as a single value, comma-separated in the Category column cells. However when importing data via the plugin the comma-separated convention doesn’t work and only the first Store Categories value is imported. I perceive this to be a bug in functionality. I see the ability to assign multiple Store Categories during an import as a reasonably expected function of the plugin and not an extended feature.

Is anyone able to help me with this?

    Hey @kimruddock,

Sorry, we missed your earlier reply here. We’re definitely interested in how the developers in our Marketplace are doing.

Let’s move this conversation over to WooCommerce.com. That way we can pull in the third-party developer into the discussion too.

Here’s the URL to open up a ticket. Select the “Help with your account” option and include a link to this forum thread in your message.

Just wanted to confirm that the plugin developer has been very helpful and has now resolved my issue with the plugin. It now provides the functionality to assign multiple store categories when importing stores via the CSV import function.
