Reporting a BAD theme update ?
-
Hi,
I manage a site which has used the Theme Phosphor from WPGURUS (https://wpgurus.net/wordpress-store-themes/) who normally have a good reputation for creating stable products. But over the last week they have done several updates on the Theme Phosphor which uses the term “kanary” in numerous places where the term “phosphor” should appear ! This causes any site using the theme to break as the code is referring to different theme names in some places and the correct on in other places !I have used the Support Forum to report this and attempted contact with the Theme Author through their site (several times) with no success. How do I report the updates and have them removed??
One only has to look at the files to see the errors. (see customizer.php which has both) The latest update (2.1.4) posted has 371 references to “kanary” in 23 files and 347 references to “phosphor” in 18 files. This was even more references to Kanary than 2.1.3 !! So it has gone from BAD to OMG!!! This has happened in all 6 updates done in the last 8 days.
I am frustrated and angry the Author is doing this. Perhaps his account was hacked!
Please look into this. I appreciate your help.
