    Hello,

Great product, I’m a beta tester and just bought pro, fab!

I have requested email on backup completion. The email test button works but when I do a backup no email is received.

    Kind regards

    David

    Hi @dihetherington

Thank you so much for your support to us all the time!

Please make sure you also have the option “Always send an email notification when a backup is complete” checked.

If you already did that, please send us a debug info via the plugin Debug tab to help us locate the issue.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi tony,

    Super quick response, very impressive.
I had set it to always sent email, I don’t know what I did but it’s working now ?? I will by default get it to only email when problem though.

Unrelated question , I’m on cloudways, had a look in the server details in the system logs in your plugin for your support and it says I have PDO , should I set my backups to pdo in settings in that case rather than W whatever it said?

Also is it possible to keep a local and a remote backup of a schedule?

    Thank you for your support.

    Kind regards

Great product by the way, not looked yet whether it uses less cpu ram and storage and quicker than updraft which was my go to. Baught lifetime freelancer, looking forward to incremental backups ??

    Hi @dihetherington

    Thank you for your update!

If you have pdo_mysql extension installed, then it can speed up the process of backing up and restoring your site if you get it to PDO option, which is also recommended in that case.

Yes, it’s possible to keep a local and a remote backup of a schedule, you just need to create two schedules for different destinations:
    – Choose Save backups on localhost (web server) then create the schedule
    – Send backups to remote storage then create the schedule

I presume if I don’t have pdo the backup just won’t work?

It’s a shame regarding the local and remote, to my knowledge when it does the remote, it first creates a local backup then copies it to remote and then deletes local. Would be good if had option to have local and remote on one schedule as using 2 schedules would use more server resources.

    Loving the plugin

    David ??

    Hi @dihetherington

Yes. If you enable PDO option but don’t have the pdo_mysql extension installed on your server, then the backup and restore will not work. In that case, please choose WPDB option instead.

    Hi David @dihetherington

“to my knowledge when it does the remote, it first creates a local backup then copies it to remote and then deletes local. Would be good if had option to have local and remote on one schedule as using 2 schedules would use more server resources.”

That’s how our plugin does when backing up your site to remote storage. In most cases, it’s not necessary to keep a backup in both localhost and remote storage. That’s why our plugin deletes backups in localhost after they’re uploaded to remote storage for the purpose of saving disk space of your web server. But what you said is a good point, I will forward it to our development team to have a discussion, and I will keep you updated.

    Thanks and regards,

    Hi @dihetherington

Thank you for considering the option for both local and remote, you can never have enough backups.

After the discussion, we decide to add the option very soon.

    Hi @dihetherington

Just a quick reminder, the features you’ve suggested have been implemented.

    1. Keeping a local and a remote backup of a schedule(in General settings, check the option Keep backups in localhost after uploading them to remote storage)
    2. Displaying content type of backups

Please update the plugin to the latest version to check them out.

Thanks for helping improve the plugin!

    Regards,
