Replying to existing comments labeled spam

    Hi,

    This plugin has worked way better than akismet that was until I started getting complaints from users that when they tried to reply to other comments, their comments were denied because the site think it’s spam.

    How can this be fixed? Other than that this plugin had eliminated 100% of my spam. I really don’t want to find another solution. But users do need the ability to respond to comments.

  • It is the issue of the theme, because ignition theme adds comment form under each comment instead of copying the main comment form like default themes are doing it.

    Thanks for the reply. I’ve decided to use another spam plugin instead. It seems to work just as well and works perfectly with my theme. But I appreciate the speedy support. You have a great plugin except for that theme conflict. I would totally use it again if that was resolved without any manual coding on my end.

    You can send a link to this forum topic to the ignition theme developers and probably they will fix this issue in the theme.

    Yeah I guess I can do that. But again another plugin is able to work around this regardless of theme. So it’s something that can probably be coded into the plugin as they did.

    Which plugin did you use instead to block the spam?

    wp-spamshield maybe there is something in their code you can spot that may help you update your plugin to resolve this issue.

    Sounds good. Keep me posted if you make an update. Then I’ll re-install your plugin because it is dead simple and very effective. The only thing I wish it had was a way to see some of the spam that was blocked because I’ve seen sometimes where comments weren’t spam but marked as such but it’s very rare.

    I updated Anti-spam plugin to ver.3.3
    Your issue with marking replying comments as spam should be solved.
    You may install the latest version of the plugin and write me back if it works fine.

    You fixed it!!! Great job! You’re now my spam filter of choice again!
    Does the pro version allow me to see which comments were marked as spam?

    Pro version have option to send all blocked comments to email address.
    You can make a special email filter for these comments in your email software and check these emails from time to time to see what comments were blocked.

    P.S. I also added a counter of totally blocked comments to both versions and it is shown in the comments section at the top.
