I have a weird problem with Ninja Forms and Outlook.

I use the e-mail field of the form as a reply-to address. When I receive the Ninja Forms submission in Gmail, I can simply hit the reply button and Gmail will use the specified reply address.

But when I send the Ninja Forms submission to Outlook and then reply to the email, Outlook only uses part of the address – up until the ‘@’ – so it doesn’t work (for example: ‘myname@’ instead of ‘[email protected]’).

The e-mail log shows the following headers:

    Content-Type: text/html,\ncharset=UTF-8,\nX-Ninja-Forms:ninja-forms,\nFrom: XXXXXXX.be <[email protected]>,\nReply-to: [email protected] <[email protected]>

    PS: XXXX for privacy reasons.

There is currently an open issue regarding Outlook’s reply-to setting that does not happen in other Email services.

Outlook emails appear to require that the Reply-To email address also have a Name. If the Reply-To is not structured as “Name <email>”, Outlook changes the reply address and does not work.

Within your Email Action, please try adding the name and email merge tags in the following format:
    {field:first_name} {field:lastname}<{field:email}>
