Reply to Comment fails under special case

I just upgraded to 2.8.4. I attempted to reply to a comment with this text (ignore the dashed lines):

Here is something I found:

apn – wap.mycricket.com
username – [email protected]
password – cricket

WordPress never returned from trying to accept that reply. I tried multiple times. Tried logging out and back in. Tried replying from the Dashboard side and also from the public side. It finally worked when I removed the line with the “[email protected]”. I was then able to edit the reply and add it back. WordPress converts that string into hyperlinked text (which I didn’t want, and don’t know how to stop from happening).

I would prefer WordPress not automatically hyperlink. It already provides a mechanism for doing that manually, putting YOU in control.
