• Hi – I’ve posted this in the “Themes and Templates” forum, but now I don’t think that was the right place.
On my main blog page, that is, the page containing all the latest blog posts, is there a way to create a link at the end of each post that says something like “Click here to reply to this post”? Currently there is no way for a reader to tell that comments are even allowed, unless they go to the individual post. I’m not a coder, so I’m hoping this will be an easy fix, or even doable with a plugin. I’m using twenty-seventeen. Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • hi,

when I look at the link, I see that you share full post in the archive page. So as a result, I as a reader wouldn’t bother to go to single post view, and consequently i wouldn’t see the comments section.

So there could be various paths.

1- you could show excerpts of posts and by this way people would go to single post to read the rest of post and they would see comments section when they reach the end of posts.

I see you use theme twentyseventeen

2- Second path consists of creating child themes and adding the php snippet shown link below to functions.php of that child theme. I wouldn’t recommend this path if you are not experienced on customizing.

Thanks, auludag. I was hoping to make it possible for readers to read the entire post on the main page, with a link to the post page if they want to reply.
