What settings do you have in the Mail tab panel? And, where can we see the website?

I went to my setup and tested it. This is what is needed for the “reply” button in your email program to take the person’s email address and add it to the “To” field.

Here is what you need to do in Contact Form 7 settings.

In the “Form” tab of the contact form, you must have the following,

    Step 1:
Insert the following or make sure it looks this way,

    [email* your-email]

Notice the ” * ” beside the word email, that asterisk must be there for this to work.

You can add a label as an option, since that tells the visitor where the email field is and whether it is required or not, so it all looks like this,

    <label> Your Email (required)
    [email* your-email] </label>

    Save the changes.

    Step 2:
    Go to the Mail tab.
In the box for “Additional Headers”, insert the following,

    Reply-To: [your-email]

    Save the changes.

Now test it, you will find that when you click reply in the email program it takes the email address provided by the person who sent the contact message.

    the website it’s https://www.marabierto.com.ar

When I get the e-mail from the from and click on Reply It’s has my own mail not the person who send the mail.

    I’m having the same problem.
For some reason after that Captcha V3 install failure which we then went back to version 2, all the sudden our contact form is doing the same thing. It sends the mail, if you look at the headeer the correct reply to email is there, yet when you hit reply, it puts in the email address from the “To” box in it’s place which basically sends the mail back to myself.

Yes that its correct Smallstar67… What did you do in your case?… can you help me please?

I’m starting to think it’s google.

I use google mail for all my accounts. This just started today and I’v not made any changes to the mail plugins, or the forms lately.

For now I placed the real “reply to” email in the mail header so I can copy it manually when replying to the email until someone with a higher pay grade figures this out. ??

Great Let’s see what happend so…. Nothing to do right now…
How can we tell to the Contact form 7 owner?

    Hello
I have the same problem since few days. The Reply-to does not work anymore.
    I use google gmail too.

    Hi same issue here:
    https://www.philippkainz.com
    I’m also using gmail.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you very much

Sounds like we have a Boneified issue here with Contact 7 and gmail. Lets wait for the coders to have a looksy. ??

I’m using CF7 on many sites without problems – I get dozens of emails every day from these sites. I’m not having any of the problems you described & using Reply to is working same as always.

As CF7 has 5+ miilion active installs, you will usually see examples in this forum of other people having the same (or similar) problem as you most days. While it’s easy to conclude this means CF7 has a bug, it’s almost always not correct.

If you create a separate question, detailing your particular problems, I’ll be happy to assist you there – I’m usually able to help people solve their particular email related problems.

@adonato@mwarbinek has given you a detailed step by step answer to your question.

I’m sorry that was still confusing for you, but it is definitely a correct technical answer to your question.

The other comments given will not help you in this case IMO. I think they are just going to confuse you, so I’d encourage you to ignore them.

@neil Nurray…. so…. whats the solution? Really don’t care who use it of if exist more than 5 millions user active…. We need solutions not a book with storys.

I am also seeing this problem and it only seems to have occurred since the last update.

I had the reply-to fields correctly set up as @mwarbinek details above – nothing has changed and it worked properly prior to the last update for CAPTCHA V3.

This does look like a new CF7 issue. As @smallstar67, @philipp-kainz and others have said, it might be a clash with gmail.
