    Hi Vinny,

Firstly, thank you for your plugin!

    Running plugin version v2.0.5.1

After a very recent website update (after 29 Dec 2018), Forum replies would not display automatically and a manual refresh was eventually required after the reply content submit was pressed. No notification emails were being sent.

When the bbPress Notify plugin was deactivated, the reply in bbPress would post normally.

Troubleshooting indicates it is the UTF-8 subject encoding option in the bbPress Notify plugin settings causing this issue. Unchecking this option resolves the problem and the page refreshes correctly after posting a reply and the notification email is sent.

Any thoughts on why this would occur and how best to identify the exact reason on a specific website?

    Thanks,

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for reaching out. Can you look in your server’s error logs for any messages there regarding bbPress Notify?

Other than moving the UTF-8 subject line method to a different file in the restructuring of 2.0, nothing was changed in the algorithm, so you should not have been receiving errors.

Unfortunately I can’t investigate further without the error messages in the logs.

    Cheers,
    Vinny

    Hi @advansys,

Please update to 2.1 as several issues were fixed since the 2.0 release.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi Vinny,

Updated to 2.1 and still have the same issue when using the subject encoding option. I will review the logs when I get the opportunity. Currently unchecking the subject encoding option solves the issue.

    Thanks,

    Greg
