Replacing Woocommerce string won’t work

Hi there,
I tried to replace the following purchase confirmation message contained in woocommerce-de_DE_formal.po without sucess:
Vielen Dank. Ihre Bestellung ist eingegangen.

I inserted the string above in the original text field, I put in woocommerce as text domain and then this string as the replacement string:
Vielen Dank für Ihre Bestellung. Wir werden die Bestellung nun manuell prüfen. Sobald die Bestellung erfolgreich überprüft wurde, senden wir Ihnen separat eine E-Mail zur Annahme der Bestellung (falls Sie in der n?chsten Stunde keine E-Mail erhalten, überprüfen Sie bitte Ihren SPAM-Ordner).

However the original string is not replaced. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for help. Frank
