Before I knew how to turn off the display of the form fields I deleted the Short Description Box… And now I would like to get it back. I tried to delete the plugin, and deleted the plugin on my hosting… When I re-installed the plugin it returned with ALL the same setting I had tried to get rid of. Including all the bogus posts and categories I had created for testing… How can I get the short description box back?

    Hi Jeff,

Try adding back a field under Manage Form Fields that is of type “Textarea” and association of “Post Excerpt”. Those are the settings that matter for the Short Description field to make it behave the way you want. That should solve the problem.

You can name it whatever you want.

Thank you. Do you have a posting that describes what all the ‘association’ title mean and do?

    Hi Jeff,

No, we don’t and I apologize for that. We’re working on a complete revamp of the documentation at this point, so I’ll make sure to include it.

Basically, the association field says, “What should this field represent on a WordPress post?” And there are many choices–the title, the category, the excerpt (which is displayed in a truncated form in some places), metadata and Region field. If you don’t know what to make something, most times Metadata is the right answer. Region fields shouldn’t be created by you, they should only be done by the regions module.
