How do I place my own graphics header into my https://www.TheHairTalkBlog.com. Right now there is just the text: The Hair Talk Blog. What do I have to do to take that away and place the graphics header there instead.

You’ll need to edit header.php. Remove everything between <div class="header"> and </div> from header.php. Enter the path to the image you want to use for your header in the Tigarator

The image is on my computer in Documents. What would be the path to the image?

You would have to upload it to the server your blog is on and enter the path to it.

You said to enter the path to the image I want to use for my header in the “Tigarator”. Under what category, Blog name, Blog description, etc. Does this path sound correct to you: Documents and Setting\Doris Moller\My Documents\header_thehairtalkblog_2.jpg

You have to upload the image to your web server, unless you’re hosting it locally on your computer. It’s under “Header” in the Tigarator.

I did upload the image. I removed everything between <div class=”header”> and </div> from header.php and replaced it with the path my image, which I am not sure is correct: Documents and Settings\Doris Moller\My Documents\header_thehairtalkblog_2.jpg. I viewed the page and what I entered in the header.php was now in the header section on the page. So I deleted “the path” to remove it.

Where would the image be under the “Header” in the sub tab “Tigarator”. I see under “Header” these descriptions: Header Height, Blog Name Text Color, Blog Name Font Family and eleven more.

It’s under Header Background Image. It’s the third to last one under the Header area. The path to your image is not going to start with Documents and Settings. It will be the path to where ever it is on your server. What ever address you would have to type into a web browser to view the image is the path you would use.

I did upload the image to the server and I entered the path of the image in place of the lines that I removed in header.php. But I obviously did something wrong. I used this path: Documents and Settings\Doris Moller\My Documents\header_thehairtalkblog_2.jpg which then appeared on the page where the header is supposed to be. I removed it.
Also I don’t know where the header would be in the Tigarator “Header” section. I am wondering do all those descriptions about color and fonts etc. represent the header I uploaded?

All those descriptions about color and fonts are for people that don’t want/have an image to be the header. Put the path to the image in the Tigarator. Do not put it in place of the text you deleted before.

I know now where I should put the path. The problem is that I don’t know the correct path. (I am sorry to be so stupid. Because I am so unfamiliar with this I don’t always understand your explanations). My file at Bluehost is in the
/public_html/Images folder with the name header_thehairtalkblog_2.jpg. Can you tell from this what the path is to the server? I entered it into the “Header Background Image” in Tigarator – and clicked the “Store Options” button and – no header.

The path for the image is this, then:
    https://thehairtalkblog.com/Images/header_thehairtalkblog_2.jpg

You could also, if your current theme does not have one, create an “images” folder in your theme’s folder and upload the header image into that folder. That way, the image path would just be:

    images/header_thehairtalkblog_2.jpg

Thank you so much for your patience. Would you please still tell me exactly – step-by-step – how I can create an “images” folder in my theme (Tiga) and how to uploade the header image into that folder.

When you connect to your site with your FTP program, go into wp-content > themes > Tiga theme, or whatever the name is of the theme you’re altering, and upload your header.php page (assuming you’ve added the code you need, of course) to overwrite the current page of the theme.

Still inside the same folder –

Next – Depending on what FTP program you’re using, you may have the option to “make new folder” or “make new directory.” Whichever the option is, create one, and name it “images”. Then open that Images folder, which is called a directory, and upload the header image into that folder.

Go back to your site and refresh the page and your header image ought to show up.
