Replacing a file cause permission issue

    Hello, We ran into a problem with replacing files. We received this error:

    String(281) “The uploaded file could not be moved to C:/websites/[site name]/wp-content/uploads/C:/websites/[site name]/wp-content/uploads/file_name.pdf. This is most likely an issue with permissions, or upload failed.”

    Upload worked, and usually one replacement of the file worked with a warning of not same file type even though it was same file, but the next try would result in the above error.

    Finally ‘Delete Permanently’ was removing the file from the Media Listing, but left the file in the Upload directory.

    Could you please show us your site information? It is on ToolS > Site Health > Info. You have a button there to copy all the data.

    I encounter the same issue with my multisite. It seems to be related to the latest version of the site.

    There is a similar ticket about this issue here and by rolling back to a previous version (3.6.3 instead of 4.0.0) the plugin works fine again.

    I suppose a new minor version will come soon with a fix to this issue.

    Hello,
    I have several WordPress Sites which use this plugin regularly and it is very helpful for them. I have received numerous reports regarding the permissions issue. I see that the path is doubling up the domain part which would definitely not allow an upload to the path.

    Example: The uploaded file could not be moved to I:Intnetpub/[siteurl]/wp-content/uploads/I:/Intnetpub/[siteurl]/wp-content/uploads/[filename].pdf

    It looks like this issue showed up after the most recent update to version 4. I did try rolling back the version and still found the error persists.

    Does your plugin development team have an ETA for a fix on this issue? Just trying to determine if I need an alternative, or if this is in the process of being fixed.

    Thank you very much for your attention to this issue. I have downloaded the updated DEV plugin and tested it in a development environment. It seems to be working as expected now by replacing the image selected and I received no errors at any point in the process. Seems like a valid fix to me – again thank you

    I’ve just updated to 4.0.1 but still getting this error:

    string(195) “The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/[sitename]/public_html/[sitename]//wp-content/uploads/2022/11/filename.png. This is most likely an issue with permissions, or upload failed.”

    I noticed a double //, but not sure if that’s an issue

    Also multi-site.
