Thanks for the question and for your research into possible EML replacements. Here is an earlier topic with more information regarding MLA and EML:

MLA active with other media plugin filtering not working

As you can see, this is not a new issue. There have been a few other topics over the years but I have not found the time to look into better cooperation between MLA and EML. I do not have any guidance on “converting paths”, but there is an earlier topic regarding EML’s taxonomy terms:

    Importing existing taxonomies

There are many plugins that add some kind of “folder” system to the Media Library. I have not heard of “Wicked Folders”, but Filebird has come up before. Here is a recent topic with a summary of MLA’s relationship to “folders” plugins:

    Folders in Media Library assistant

As you can see there, MLA’s design philosophy is to extend the Media Library in the most WordPress-like way I can achieve, adding features like taxonomy support. I try to maintain a “do no harm” compatibility with folder-based plugins but that is all I can achieve.

I regret the news is not better, but I am marking this topic resolved simply because I have answered your question to the best of my ability. I wish you every success in finding a set of plugins that work for your client’s site. Thanks for your interest in MLA.
