Replacement not working with HTML shortcut

  • I am using Text Replace to add CSS to step numbers like this:
    <p>1. => <p><span class=”post-step”>1</span>

    It works good, but only if I am using the “Stop removing the <p> and
    tags when saving and show them in the HTML editor” with the TinyMCE plugin.

    Is there any way to apply Text Replace after WordPress has processed <p> when display a post? Of can the plugin be updated for such feature?
