Replace string processor

Is there a processor that can just replace some text in a string, e.g. when having an image extracted (as URL) from the Image processor, can a piece of text be replaced?
This is helpful for getting the original image in full size when having a thumbnail image (e.g. stripping -300x200).
If there is no string-replace processor yet, can I write my own little processor for this?
