• I have been running my website on Joomla and want to switch to WordPress. I have installed WordPress in a subdirectory and haven’t done too much with it yet. I keep stalling because I don’t know which is the better route: (1) to create the site in a subdirectory and then uninstall Joomla and move the WordPress site into the main director, (2) move the Joomla site to a subdirectory, and then do a fresh install in the main directory, or (3) some other suggestion.

I am perfectly fine with just starting over fresh in the main directory (it is a personal/teacher website and doesn’t have tons of traffic), EXCEPT for this one thing: there is a Joomla plugin that manages a collection of links that I don’t really want to rebuild. That is the only reason I haven’t done this already.
