Replace links to media pages with links to images

I have quite a lot of posts with Images on my blog. Many of those images have links to the Media Page, but I would like to replace these links to links to the actual image in the wp-content/uploads.

I would like to do this in the Database itself and not with a plugin that just modifies the pst HTML generated bye WordPress.

I am looking for a plugin that edits the database, an SQL Query that would make this change or anything other method that makes a permanent change to the Database.
