Replace image sizes as well?

Hello and thank you for designing an awesome plugin!

I have been using it to replace images that were heavy with lighter ones, and it works like a charm!

However what I have noticed is that it only replaces the full size file that was uploaded, not the images sizes created by the theme. So I have a original file that is lighter, yet the thumbnails from the original upload are half the dimension but double the weight.

Is there a way to replace all files including original upload and wp thumbnails included?

I have tried regenerate thumbnails, but it doesn’t work as the image dimensions are the same.

The only thing I could think of was to replace original with your plugin, change thumbnail sizes, regenerate thumbnail size, change size back, regenerate again. I don’t think this is the best way or if it will even work, so I wanted to ask the person that know a lot about this process.

Btw the reason I dont just delete and upload from scratch is all the meta tagging I would
lose on 500+ images.
