    Hi,
I am making a product catalogue with products that have downloadable files (as datasheets and manuals for example).

When there is only one file added to a certain product, the file name is not shown. Instead there is a Download button. This seems to be by default in WooCommerce.

I want the file name to show even if there is only one file, because I want the user to see what type of file it is before they make the decision if to download it.

Is it possible to show the file name, like “Manual” och “Datasheet”, instead of only “Download”, even if there is only one file added to the product?

    Thank you!

Can you please share if you are referring to the Shop page here or a custom product page? On my personal site, I am not seeing the Download button on these pages. Furthermore, I can only download a downloadable product after purchasing it under My Account > Downloads.

Can you please share with us a clear screenshot of what you see on your end so that we could address you more effectively?

If you don’t already have a screenshot service installed, you can try https://snipboard.io or https://skitch.com/. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Hi,

It’s a WooCommerce Product page where I ticked the checkbox “Downloadable” file.

I am using the plugin “WooCommerce Catalog Mode by GTS” to make the shop to a product catalogue.

    Screenshot from the WooCommerce settings:

Screenshot from the area of the product where you add the downloadable file:

Screenshot rom the frontend where you see the Download button:

If you add more than one downloadable file, the file names will show. But when there is only one file, you get the “Download” button.

It would be great if you have any clue on how to always show the filename.

    Thank you!

    Hi @maddex

Thank you for providing the screenshots, these are really helpful! ??

On the default Shop page, downloadable products can only be downloaded on the My Accounts page upon purchase of the product and not on the Shop Page.

I am using the plugin “WooCommerce Catalog Mode by GTS” to make the shop to a product catalogue.

As you’ve confirmed that you are using a third-party plugin on your site to make the Shop page a product catalog, it would be best to reach out to the plugin’s developers for further assistance here.

All the best and hopefully, the issue will be fixed soon.

    Thanks!
