Repeating posts in random order

    Hi,

    I can see the posts are repeating when the order is random. I did a quick search trough the forum and find out from similar topics that it is not resolved.

    The problem is that the plugin makes its own query each time when new page loads and if the order is random, it may query posts that have been already output before, is this correct?

    A solution I come up with might be to keep the IDs of queried posts in an array if posts order is random and exclude them from query with post__not_in when a new page loads. Add IDs to the array on each page load.

    Is this doable?

    Hi skoldin,
    Yes, that’s correct.
    That solution you mentioned could work. I don’t have any plans to support ordering by random in the next few releases, but i’ll add it to the list.
