• Hi-

We’re getting a repeating message (30 emails in last hour) saying:

Attention! You have changed the login URL! The new login URL is: https://oursite.com/xyznew

This is wrong. We did change the login URL, but to something more like https://oursite.com/abcnew

The latter URL works, the former returns a 404 error.

Our WP-Cerber log showed a suspicious activity entry several days ago from a user attempting to reach the bogus https://oursite.com/xyznew URL. It showed the attempt was blocked.

We have tried re-setting the login URL, got one message accurately reflecting the change, but subsequent messages reporting that we’d changed the login URL to the bogus one, https://oursite.com/xyznew.

How can we make this repeating message stop?

    Thanks!

Update – we note that the messages say, “This message was created by WP Cerber Security 9.5.7” even though we are running WP Cerber Security 9.5.8.

We’ve run a complete scan, de-activated and re-activate WP Cerber, all to no avail.

There doesn’t seem to be any pattern to the time between messages. Sometimes we receive several in a short time, then hours may pass before another.

Anyone hazard a guess as to what’s going on?

    Thanks.
