Repeatedly: “strong password” requested at WP login

    Since today, when I login to WP dashboard, I am requested to select a new, strong password – with not way to opt out.
    A strong password is proposed already – so this is easy to do.

    However, once this is set and later on I like to log in again, I again get the same request to change the password. This can’t be the intention. How can this be stopped?

    This is solved.
    The issue was the iThemes Security plugin. Due to some unknown reason it suddenly caused this problem.
    So I have deactivated the “strong password” requirement in the settings at iThemes Security/Password Requirements.
