I am having a problem with some products showing up twice on my shop pages, for example: the second page of my shop repeating the last 4 products from the first page.

I have tried deactivating all other plugins besides WooCommerce and switching my theme to Storefront, yet I keep getting that weird behaviour so I’m inclined to believe it is a problem with WooCommerce itself.

From what I have seen in the testing I have been doing, it only happens when I set WooCommerce’s default product sorting to “sort by newness” or “Popularity (sales)”; while if I set it to the ‘default ordering (custom ordering + name)’ or ‘average rating’, I no longer see any repeated products.

Unfortunately in my case I really wanted to be able to ‘sort by newness’ / most recent, so I would really appreciate any help in getting to the bottom of this issue and coming to a possible solution.

  • I am having the same issue. Curious if this remains unresolved for you?

I have meanwhile left that project as I took up another job, but as of my departure it remained unresolved and the lazy load functionality seems to have been abandoned since then.

I’d be interested to know if a solution comes up though, as that issue was seriously frustrating when I was working on that project.

    Best of luck to you!

I too am facing the duplicate issue when sorting by newness. I confirmed this with NO plugins installed by WooCommerce and on multiple themes. Is newness time or date based? I did upload all my products via CSV, so they all pretty much have the same creation date, .. could this be the problem?

techlogical if the same I guess it could be a problem. It’s sorted by post_date – WordPress handles this sorting, its nothing custom.

I’m not sure if any of you still having this issue, I got mine resolved by turning off infinite scroll.
