• Every morning I check several website admin logs, one of which is a list of 404 errors encountered by site visitors.

This one Make file shows up six times each morning in that 404 error list (with my ip address as the requestor when I log into my dashboard; the only time it appears):

    ?/wp-content?/themes?/make?/js?/admin?/edit-page.js-roque-script-nulled?ver=1.6.0

I haven’t noticed any unusual website/theme behavior, but I thought you’d want to know about it and let me know how to stop the errors from occurring.

    Thanks.

  • Hi @mikeharrison

Make includes a file called /wp-content?/themes?/make?/js?/admin?/edit-page.js but I don’t know where the “-roque-script-nulled” part is coming from. There’s certainly nothing in the theme code that would make a request like that. I would recommend you examine your site’s files and/or install a plugin like Wordfence and do a scan for changed files. This could be an indication that your site has been hacked.

    Thanks, Corey.

Very similar 404 errors are also logged for one of my plugins, the author of which asked whether I was using a security plugin. I am using BulletProof Security, and I forwarded all of these errors to them earlier today, and just forwarded your suggestion that it may be the sign of a hack. They are currently investigating.

Being as these 404 errors occur only immediately after I check my site’s security status (they don’t show up in the log at any other time), we are hoping that it is only something having to do with that.

    Thanks.
