reorganizing images in wp-content

  • Greetings,

    My blog is one year old and is the first one I hosted myself. And did mistakes ??
    One of the said misatkes was to put all pictures directly in wp-content instead of prganizing them neatly in some wp/content/images/year/quarter set of folders.

    Is there an easy way to rewrite the URLs in my posts so that the pictures links point to this new structure?
    I know that this is not trivial and I will probably start the structure from now on (and keep the ugly 2006 pictures mess in wp-content directly) but maybe… maybe… someone has done it before (did not see any relevant posts)?
