    Installed reorder post-within-categories 1.2.1; set settings; switched to manual; reordered the posts in the category; NOTHING CHANGED ON THE FRONT END; tried several times

    Did you switch on DEBUG mode on your WordPress to see if there is any errors in your log files or screen?
