Reordering of Links Categories

Have you tried the spacing hack to deal with this?

Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do for the time being, but that should be a basic customizable function anyway.

I agree. I’m glad to know that I’m not just missing something obvious though! I’ve been poking around for a couple of hours trying to figure it out.

hrmmm….reordering the categories in the database doesn’t do any good…

OK, I figured out a way to do it:

Go to your index.php file in the folder of whichever theme you are using.

Find the <?php get_links_list(); ?>

In the (), list the category id numbers in the order you want them displayed, separated by commas, with no spaces. Like so:

<?php get_links_list(25,26,27,28,29); ?>

I tried <?php get_links_list(25,26,27,28,29); ?> but it didn’t reorder. Works with 1.5?

Yeah, works in 1.5! Brilliant!

OKay, I am using 1.5.2 & tried <?php get_links_list(2,1); ?> to reorder the two categories I have for links & didn’t work. Any ideas?

Thought you would be interested, as would people who come across this thread, that I have created a plugin to address this very issue by allowing you to manually set the order of link categories and links. Check it out at My Link Order
