Reorder Filter Categories and Thumbs

I have this plugin and it seems to be working for what I need with a couple of exceptions. How can I re-order the category filter links (current alphabetical)? I want to freely rearrange the links in whatever order I choose.
I am also trying to get a random order of the thumbnail images. They seemed to be grouped by category and then by portfolio date. So I cannot see them in random order.
