Rendering WP′sTwenty Eleven Theme and IE9

There’s absolutely no rendering problem in Twenty Eleven when viewed using IE9.

That’s a general problem with Internet Explorer and the Helvetica font that has nothing to do with WordPress.

I can’t even see the problem. Could someone describe what it is that I’m supposed to be seeing?

IE reads helvetica using a bold font weight.

Only if the reader has Helvetica installed…

IE really is such an unbelievable PITA.

My IE9 doesn’t render the site, until I delete Helvetica from the style sheet. There is the suggestion to make some adjustments on the settings of IE9… but, I dont beleive it would be easy for the most users. No client would agree with this. So, I know its a terrible navigator, but it is also fact of life…

I know, and I’m sympathetic to having to deal with it — it was probably a poor joke :). Sorry.

Are you saying the entire site won’t render? That sounds like something else might be wrong — otherwise it seems like a lot of other people would be having that problem with twentyeleven.

I’ve tried a couple of IE9 installs on different machines and I’m not seeing any problems. Perhaps the issue is within the site? It might help if you posted a link to it.

Win7 in most cases. I also have access to XP machines, an iPad and, if I ask nicely, a Mac Powerbook. ??
