Rendering template.php failed

Hello everyone,
So I have a NextGen template that I created using these instructions, https://jackplug.co.uk/nextgen-gallery-link-to-url/, that allows the alttext of a image to be a link to a specified url. The instructions are pretty simple. But here’s my issue, I was able to get this functionality working on a sandbox of the website but when I tried and follow that same process on the live site, I get an error code that reads “Rendering of template gallery-link.php failed”. I know the file is in the view folder (for both sites) but the live site for some reason will not pick it up. Hoping anyone can help me out with this. Your help is greatly appreciated.
