• Hello,

I am running the latest version of CataBlog. I have been adjusting the thumbnail size so that I get the maximum width to fix 7 across. However, on my last Regenerate Images attempt, the process has frozen at 0.1%.

    Screen shot…

Any idea what the problem might be and how to correct it?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello eCalm,

You are rendering 741 images and that can cause a server to use some resources.

Have you tried to render the images at different times? For example in the morning, at noon or lat at night time. If you are on a shared server the different times mentioned above might help.

If you have different browsers try using another browser i.e. FireFox, Chrome, IE, Safari, Seamonkey etc

    Kind regards

    Hi mbrsolution,

Thanks for you reply. We have rendered these images (all 740+ of them ) before with no problem – render times take about 7-8 min. We have tried rendering with Chrome and IE10.

However, now upon further review we seem to have a PHP error out of the blue. See screen shot…

Not sure what has caused this. Does anyone have any experience with this error with CataBlog?

Hi eCalm, I did see the error message on your screen shot. Have you performed any updates before this issue?

Here is a link internal server error 500 that might assist you further.

    Kind regards

Hi were you able to resolve your issue?

    Kind regards

    Hi guys-

I’m having the same issue… I changed my thumbnail sizes from 100×100 to 125×125… clicked “regenerate images”… I get stuck at 13.8% (63 of 456) every time.

    Here’s my info:

    twentytwelve child theme
    WP: 3.7.1
    CataBlog Version: 1.6.4
    MySQL Version: 5.0.96-log
    PHP Version: 5.3.24
    GD Version: bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
    PHP Memory Usage: 5.5 MB
    PHP Memory Limit: 256 MB
    Max Uploaded File Size: 32M
    Max Post size: 33M
    Thumbnail Disc Usage: 1.88 MB
Full Size Disc Usage: 0 MB
Original Upload Disc Usage: 62.53 MB
    Total Disc Usage: 64.41 MB

    I’ve tried:

    • disabling all other plugins
    • creating “php.ini” and increasing the memory to 64MB
    • using different browsers (Firefox, chrome & IE)
    • created new .htaccess file in case the current was corrupted.
    • trying at different times of the day, since this is a shared hosting account
    • contacted my hosting company and had them run diagostics- nothing came up

    Any suggestions?

Also- is there anything within the plugin like an XML list of everything showing within a Library? Or do these paths of information exist entirely within the database?

    Thanks!

Hello ChadAustin try to increase you memory to 128MB in your php.ini

    Kind regards

    Thanks for ultra-quick response, mbrsolution!!!

I tried that and 256. it still froze. : (

Hello @chadaustin did you have that problem with WordPress 3.6.1?

Can you try the following steps.

    1) Create a backup of your website.
    2) Backup the catablog image folder on your server.
    3) Export the CataBlog settings.
    4) Uninstall and delete the CataBlog plugin and make sure that it has being completely deleted from your server.
    5) Install CataBlog again.
    6) Open your CataBlog and navigate to Systems and unlock your folder. Copy all the images you backed up in step 2 above. Rescan Original folder and then regenerate all images. You can also click on Remove all CataBlog data “but first make sure you have a back”, this action might fix your problem.

I hope the above helps you.

    Kind regards

Thanks again, but this also did not work. The “regenerate images” still gets stuck.

Hello @chadaustin, then I suspect that it could be an issue with WordPress 3.7.1.

Would you be able to test it on a testing platform running WordPress 3.6.1 to confirm that it is an issue with WordPress 3.7.1 and not maybe it is an issue with javascript or other plugin although you have already tested this scenario.

    Kind regards

I’m under the gun right now with projects to do anything at the moment. But I’ll give you some more information (you still have one of the COOLEST plugins out there! Anyone reading this should understand this plugin author deserves donations so your customers will continue to be happy).

    1) exporting the current catalog left out some products.
    2) changing the thumbnail size and then trying to regenerate images will get all the categories’ thumbnails, but only a few products before it stops.

I finally got everything manually updated over the weekend: https://studioqfurniture.com/

Even with the issues, I could have not done it without your awesome plugin.

Hello ChadAustin, I am glad you like this plugin. I am certain Zach the developer of this great plugin will be happy to read your words.

    Kind regards
