renaming blog directory…

  • Just a quick question…

    I want to rename my blog directory from wordpress to lounge. I already know how to do this, my question(s) is will this effect SEO? My permalinks will remain the same as they are now… correct?

  • If you think the permalinks will remain the same – then you don’t know how to do it ??

    example.com/wordpress is not the same as example.com/lounge

    so, NO, your permalinks, of course, will not be the same.

    So if you have an established site, is it recommended to rename the directory?

    Yes 5115, it gives a more professional look and feeling to the site.

    Okay, ?hem, i want to do the same, but don’t know, how to do it. The last time i’ve tried i messed up my blog completely, couldn’t login anymore and had to re-install everything. So is there a quick “how to” for noobs?
