Renaming a plugin entirely (including URL slug)

  • We currently have a plugin on this site with a fairly solid rating, and we’d like to keep all of those statistics.
    However, we’re actually rebranding our product, and as a result, we have to rename everything about the plugin – including, hopefully, the URL slug.
    Is it possible to do this just through updating the plugin, without releasing an entirely new plugin? The plugin does exactly the same thing, it is just simply rebranded (with some bug fixes to boot.) Thanks!
