I have a large media library which needs cleaning up. Part of this cleanup is to purge old thumbnail files. Some idiot has added images to the library with filenames which identify them as thumbnails (foo350x350.jpg for instance) so running a thumbnail cleaner plugin is going to result in these images being deleted along with the real thumbnails.
Can your plugin find and rename such images? It would be super handy if it did.

If you can search for those specific Medias in the Media Library, then you can select them in bulk and Rename, that will work ??

Would I need the pro version for that? Can’t see a way of editing the filename without.

You need to use the Auto Rename feature. Manual Rename is Pro only and also will not work in Bulk, you would need to go one by one for this.

Auto Rename depends on your Media Title or the posts’ titles the media are attached to. You should give good titles to all your Media, if they don’t have one already, or make sure they attached to posts. Set-up the Renamer and Bulk Rename the Medias you selected.

And before that, make sure you backup your DB and files.

Oh I get it: if you change the title it changes the filename. That’s great thanks!
