• Hello

I installed latest wordpress 5.4.1 and it creates a default database name called “wordpress_x”

Q1. Can I rename this database name without any issues further down the line?
in other words is it good practise?
Q2. Is this step even necessary ?
Q3. When I try to rename it in “PHPMyAdmin” to a more meaningful name, it gives a message “1044 – Access Denied” Error”

    How to solve this?

    Thank you

if you decide to make any changes to (naming or prefix) database, you need to be sure that you make corresponding change to wp-config.php file too

wp-config.php contains the information to properly connect to database

    Hi

So I found this link which shows how to rename a database …

    https://itxdesign.com/how-can-you-quickly-change-your-wordpress-database-name/

I tried it but it does not work for me.

I seems i have to live with the name it creates eg.. wordpress_xxx

When I try to rename it in “PHPMyAdmin” to a more meaningful name, it gives a message “1044 – Access Denied” Error”

    thanks
