  • If you’re using the normal structure of WordPress, then it wouldn’t be a folder, it is a page. So to fix it, log in to the admin, go to Pages, click on the Services page, and under the title of the page, there’s the Permalink, with an option to edit it. Click on edit and change the link to be just services. WordPress adds the 2 itself when two pages have the same name, so if you have 2 pages named Services, even if one is in the trash, it won’t work. You’ll need to get rid of the duplicate completely first.

Start by emptying all of your trash.

Hi, thank you so much for the speedy response, but still not able to complete the change.

OK, so I emptied the trash and have not been able to edit the page services-2 to just services. Below are some more details.

The Permalink for the Services page shows: “Permalink: https://www.shahconsultinggroup.com/” This page only goes to the homepage, as I did not want it to redirect anywhere else. Once I click on “Change Permalinks” button. I get a list of radio buttons with the “Custom Structure” one selected. In the corresponding box, the following is written, “/%category%/%postname%.html”

The Permalink for the Spend Transformation page show: “Permalink: https://www.shahconsultinggroup.com/services-2/purchasing-solutions”. purchasing-solutions is highlighted in yellow and when i click on edit the highlighted is only editable.

OK, so I found a way to get this done. I created a new page called “Services” and it comes up fine, since the other pages was appended with a “-2”.

I moved the subpages underneath the new “Services” and then deleted the old “Services-2”

Thanks for the help, definitely guided me in the right direction.
