removing the searchbox in topbar

I’ve added a new Google searchbox in the sidebar, so I’m trying to remove the one in the topbar. Thought it would be easy, but when I delete

“<?php get_search_form(); ?>”

This just changes everything! What did I do wrong?

I want to add a link to my Twitter there…
