Removing the scroll to top?

Hi there,
I’ve been trying to remove the scroll to top button functionality as I only really need the smooth scroll for my anchors. I’ve been trying to comment out the parts of the js files and css files that contain the scroll to top – it works, but that leaves a blank space underneath my page. Is there a more correct way to remove/comment out the scroll to top?
