Removing the ‘junk’

  • well, I’m trying wordpress to see what the fuss is about. It seems by default it puts a bunch of junk all over the place. How do I remove this stuff?

    Specifically I’m referring to the ‘Categories, Search, Meta, and Archive’. None of that stuff works right anyways and looks really sloppy.

    Do I have to edit the theme?

    That’s what I’m doing. More to the point, writing a new theme altogether by copying and pasting from other themes. I’m a PHP developer and it’s quite a tough learning curve when a client says “you MUST use WP” and you’ve never seen it before.
